    XP Smart Security is a Trojan and a rogue product so you need to remove it and it will try everything to prevent being removed. One product that can remove it properly is Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware

    Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware download (free):

    heres some other links since it may will try to block the file:
    http://www.malwaresupport.com/mbam/program/mbam-setup.exe

    If you can not open the file , rename the Malwarebytes download file into any other name. Once downloaded, just install and let it perform a scan. If you are still having problems then go into safe mode and run Malwarebytes

    Then delete all infected files and re-run a full system scan and repeat the process. Or use any other free quality and reputed spyware scanner SUPERAntiSpyware, Spybot Search & Destroy, Ad-Aware Free Anti-Malware, etc
    Another thing you could try McAfee’s Labs Stinger

    Meanwhile you should look at getting a better and well known free or commercial antivirus on your system, best to be safe.

    Smart Security is a rogue anti-spyware application, a clone of Security Tool. The fake software can get into your PC in several different ways: it can either steal into your machine with the video codec or it can be a part of any flash update. In both cases, you don’t notice when it is installed.

    However, after the installation process, Smart Security starts constantly scanning your computer. In addition, it keeps displaying warning messages that a threat was found and you are in danger. Don’t ever trust these computer hackers. They have designed this rogueware to make you believe you are in a great need of purchasing the full version of this software. Be sure you know what you are doing.
    In case you notice any of the following symptoms on your PC, be sure that it might be Smart Security on your machine:

    •your PC starts operating slow;
    •you keep getting pop-up warnings;
    •your system is constantly scanned;
    •you are redirected to the purchase page of the software.

    Don’t install Smart Security on your own wish. In case, Smart Security has got to your machine, remove the rogueware automatically, or follow Smart Security Manual Removal Instructions.
